Old 4 speed OD?
You will need a bell housing for your motor, a flywheel, clutch, and a pedal set for your year truck along with the clutch linkage. You may need a different cross member and drive shaft as well.
Cost? IF you can find all that stuff from a donor truck I would guess you will be into it about $500 on the low end by the time you buy the new clutch and throw out bearing and other parts that you must buy new.
I'd love to have a 3 on the tree but it really confuses me how It actually works on the column. But on the other hand a 4 on the floor would mean I have to hack into the beautiful american made steel floor. This would also be all done in my garage without a proper lift or hoist or any special tools
Besides tools it sounds like he also needs a mentor for the job. Hidden items such as pilot bearings and clutch rods can turn something simple into a nightmare if not done properly.
