Odd startup bogging.
Hey guys,
I've already scoured the internet a bit, and discovered that as usual, it is not nearly as helpful as you guys are.
'95 F250 Powerstroke.
On firing, it will lug down for a moment, then return to a normal idle. I hear an odd "Wsssshhhhh" sound that I assume is from the exhaust system while it bogs. I wondered if my EBPV could be sticking/damaged. I also sorta wondered if it could just be turbo related (Eg- the bearing/shaft the wheels ride on being worn) Any other thoughts?

Sounds like your EBPV is sticking, unplug it, its not needed.
If you pull the intake off the turbo, pull back and forth and side ways to see if there is any play in the shaft. If its pretty tight, your OK.

the EBPV is the woosh.
most of us here overfil our ZF5's by 1 to 2 qt's
I'd look to remove that EBPV eventually.
They are a ticking time bomb.

I went though 4 gallons of oil getting home that day and a blown turbo.

I'm thinking a full delete is in order this summer. I found a couple of videos on youtube showing the leaks that they can cause, you aren't kidding about them being a time bomb

On start up the EBPV cycles (closes then opens). It's suppose to do that as the PCM is checking for back pressure to see it that function is working properly. If the PCM see no extra back pressure then it disables the function for the driving cycle. If the EOT is high enough, > 135 F on my truck then PCM doesn't do the cycle check and the function is disabled for the driving cycle.
