Ignition switch FYI
A few months ago I did the 3G upgrade, and added a second battery and isolator. Around the same time, I noticed that my windows stopped working intermittently, the radio was blinking on and off, the ABS light was on intermittently, and the wipers wouldn't work. It was MONTHS before I happened to be holding down the window switch whilst moving the key around and they moved as long as I found the 'sweet spot'.
I went to Napa and picked up a new lock cylinder, actuator and ignition switch. There are many videos on how to change the lock cylinder and actuator but my problem ended up being the ignition switch on the top of the column about halfway to the firewall. Two bolts to drop the column and the switch had physically separated so the contacts weren't engaging. The actuator was fine. I replaced the switch and everything works fine now! Not sure if this is a known issue or not but I figured I would share.
I don't think it was caused by or related to the second battery, or the 3g upgrade since none of the plastic or electronics inside looked burned or melted or anything. I think it was just a case of bad coincidental timing.
