I couldn't really find anything in the search but I'm posting this for a friend. A few days ago we were driving in 4th gear and when he got on it a little bit it started slipping.now today he says its slipping pretty bad in all gears.. Is this a clutch? And if so what all would we need to replace when we do it
Yes that would be the clutch slipping. Unless something is messed up with the hydraulic linkage not properly letting the clutch fully engage, the only cure would replacement of the clutch disc and related parts.
What model is it F150 F250 etc. and what engine does it have?

When the clutch pedal is up in the normal driving position, can you feel a little bit of free play? Free play would be where you can push the clutch pedal down a little before it pushes somewhat harder as it begins to push on the pressure plate to release the clutch.
If you don't know what I'm talking about this can be confusing. A trained foot(no pun intended) can feel this right off. You can test for free play with the engine running or not running.
If you have a little free play the only cure is to replace the clutch disc and related parts.
