So i picked up an 89' f150 this past weekend with a 5.0 in it. i gotta redo the break lines since it has no breaks. i got it for 500 the guy drove it a few miles to where we met so it does stop. The passenger side breakline is leaking so im hopeing it's just sucking air in and not working. The motor and tranny were rebuilt in 2010 so after i get it on the road and stopping im going to start doing mods to the motor. It is a rough looking truck, it looks like an old farm truck so im going to keep it looking rough and just build the motor and what not. wish me luck i will post pics later

Sounds an awful lot like mine when I bought it. I ended up replacing all the brake lines on mine. I couldn't find a single place that would flare without splitting. For me it was worth the piece of mind knowing I wouldn't have anymore leaks. Plus brake line isn't all that expensive.
HI Kyle, welcome to the forum. I live about 30 miles from you, just north of Sonoita. Is your master cylinder good(could be why the pedal drops to the floor) will it pump up ? ? Did you bleed the lines? Are the wheel cylinders on the rear axle leaking too ?
Only thing leaking was the passenger side rubber hose. I bleed the breaks real quick last night. Not sure about the master cylinder though. After I changed the line it would stop before I would have to pull the e break to stop.
I can't remember, does this truck have shoe brakes in the rear? If so, you will need a brake spoon to adjust the resistance as well. Check around your booster and see if there is any leakage also, as you could be losing pressure there as well. Also, look at the lines coming off of the booster. I had a Suburban that cracked a brake line, after I replaced it, I took the truck out for a test and as soon as I stepped hard on the brakes, I blew a line from the booster. Replaced it and truck braked fine.
