Just bought a 02 F250 w/ 7.3 and have a few questions

Just picked up a 2002 F-250 super duty with the 7.3 powerstroke. Very high mileage, but starts up cold real fast, with no smoke. Trans shifts smooth and engine sounds relatively tight considering 340k miles. Cosmetically a little ragged here & there, but that's OK - not entering any beauty contests with this one!

Questions and a truck pic at the bottom:

I have a bunch of parts left over from a 6.9 IDI project last year including injectors. Any chance injectors for the early 6.9's would fit in this 7.3 engine if/when I ever need to replace them?

Also, what is the little mic in the top left of the windshield? Is that factory?

The little dongle off the wire in this pic is a mystery too -looks like it has a phone or maybe ethernet jack, obviously not used for that purpose. Could it be connected somehow with the mic above?

I have to replace a few things in the front end it looks including a couple steering dampeners and an outer tie rod end. Are these parts OK to get aftermarket or do I absolutely need Motorcraft?

One other thing is the column shifter is real loose. It still shifts Ok but is very wobbly. What would cause it to be so loose?

Here she is:

No the 6.9 injectors are not interchangeable. Microphone is aftermarket. I have no idea what that dongle is. It is not factory. On the front end suspension parts, some use factory, some use Moog, I used Spicer, and have had good luck. On the loose shift lever the first place to start is to lay on your back under the steering column. Look up at the back of the steering column. Wiggle the shift lever, and look for a bracket bolted to the shift lever shaft, that is held in place by two torque screws. The torque screws are notorious for backing out. You can Loctite them in place with blue Loctite.

I usually use Moog because most of their parts are greaseable.
