Questions for shift linkage ( F100 `69)

Hello dear people
I would like to know how the original shift linkage looks like in a Ford F100 with C6 gearbox.
There is installed a steering column from 1978 and wonder how it looks in the original at the 69th, or the 78th.
The car has a single rod from the steering column lever to the shifter lever on the transmission.
It seems to me that this lever is much too short, and therefore the question of how long is such a lever, or that can not fit together due to the different years of construction.

Thanks for an answer, pictures and information.
Greetings from Germany
Lars

NSS (Neutral Safety Switch) located on the steering column 1965/77, located on the trans 1978/79

Well I have a 69 f100 and a 77 f150 both with original c6. I'll try to get a pic of each here in the next few days.

Hello forum
Thank you for the tips and the pictures. This looks very interesting, on my 69er it is almost mixed, I have the adjuster on top, but with a 78er steering column ...
I will also take some pictures on the weekend.
Many thanks for your help.

@ hivoltj: Your 69er looks very "interesting"

Best regards from Germany
Lars
