I did a stud job with cab on and the engine in. Just install the head with the rear bottom studs slid already in the head. It's not worth pulling the entire engine to just do heads.

Jetact, in the process of a rebuild myself, for what it's worth I purchurced the lifters and plastic retainer/hold downs, for around 50 bucks per ste of 4, 200 for all four, from AutoNations (Tousley) you should be able to run the part number in there site for a price.

I didn't know about the pushrods, is this a Ford update or a "Mod" that everyone is doing?

I understand that the pushrods have been found to crush the lifters. Mine looked fine when they came out but like the last time I pulled the motor I do all of the upgrades possible so I bought the new ones. They are the ones that are in the 6.4 L. I just got my head back from the machine shop all tested and clean, got all eight of my new injectors and the Turbo has been gone through. It will start getting put back together this week and hopefully being put back in the truck toward the end of the week.
