1990 f150
hey all, new to the forum, i have a 1994 f150 standard cab with 8 ft bed. and currently looking at a 1989 f150 that needs a motor. my question is what motor would be best? it has the 5.0 in it and i would like to put a newer 5.0 in it. i have heard the 94 up have a better cam in it, but up to what year can i use? i know body style changed in 96 but when did the motor change. i would like to keep it as simple of an install as possible. and maybe build a better 5.0 later but need a second truck right now. thanks again guys

The best engine to put in it would be a 351W (google 351 swap).
If you are dead set on putting a 302 (5.0L) then an explorer 302 or 92-96 302 truck (94 up I believe for 351Ws) engine would be best as it is roller cam.
Either one will go in really nicely.
