Before you put it back together go to your parts house and see if they sell Dow 111 it is a oring lubricant that I used when I did mine and it slid together nice and easy didn't need a strap just a little twist and it slid right in. I how ever did not take the front housing off as it wasn't leaking and at the time it looked like the bottom bolt on the front cover was cracked and didn't want to have it break and not be able to reinstall the cooler. Better luck this time

I agree...Not trying to start trouble but if you use anything more than arm strength to assemble you're going to tear an o ring. Lube is your friend.

I am glad you found the problem ! Yea it blows that that happened but at least it isn't something more serious. So this thread was not a waste of time. Just look at it as you sharing has helped out others... Like myself
