Vss signal affecting E4OD
I have had both the MLP and VSS sensor replaced and I am still receiving poor VSS signal code. A Ford dealership has had the vehicle for a few days now and they have identified the problem as being a bad ABS module. They are telling me the signal routing is Sensor to ABS to PSOM to PCM and then transmission. Therefore it would appear a bad ABS module could lead to a bad signal being sent to the transmission.
They are telling me a new ABS module is around $1000 therefore I am keen to know whether what they are telling me is correct. Any comments?
2° If ABS is not working properly, as Ford said; then speed meter will be affected also (Will show lower speeds than real or not at all). Had you notice that?
3° If VSS signal is lower than 1Vpp, even a good ABS will activate ABS funtion as soon as you press brake, because it think rear wheels are not rotating.
4° If you are sure ABS is not working fine, you can disconnect VSS signal going from VS sensor to ABS and then route it directly to PSOM. This is same configuration for NOT ABS vehicles, at least F series and Bronco.
