Any suggestions on a temporary way I can prevent snow from accumulating in the bed of my truck during a storm? I'm not enjoying having to shovel it out.
Couple sheets of 3/8ths OSB would be cheap. It would be all delaminated and basically junk by the end of the season, but would help. As long as you remember to toss them off before you leave. Craigslist is full of cheap shell toppers that you could clamp on just for the winter.
Thanks guys for the ideas. Hadn't thought about particle board. It's not has heavy as plywood(right?) so it'd be easier to handle. Suppose I could run a strap side to side to keep the wind from blowing it off. I have a tool box mounted but I think 2 sheets would still be needed.
I should've mentioned that the reason for wanting no snow in the bed is to be able to load my snowblower in it. And would be needed only when the truck is parked in my driveway.
Particle board is heavy stuff, OSB (oriented strand board) is a little lighter than plywood, 3/8ths is not real heavy. If you have a toolbox and a 6.6 bed you will need to cover about 60". You will need at least 72" long to cover side to side. That would leave you with a piece 48"x24". Rip that in half and cut one 24" shorter and it will all be covered. You'll need to join those two together with a 1x4 underneath or whatever you can find. Not real strong or pretty but should keep the snow out. If it bows down too much with snow load you can always screw a couple 2x4's under it as a strut to keep it rigid. Probably less than $12.00 for the whole project. Throw a few bricks along the edges while parked to keep it from blowing off....or whatever you got. LOL....I'm an old nail bender so I don't like waste.
I park the truck in the garage if I want to keep snow out of it. Works every time!
I quit doing that years ago because of the mess....drives me nuts. The garage stays about 32* even on -20 nights and it is like a swimming pool in the morning. My wifes car doesn't drip much of a mess, but my truck does. A floor drain is useless because it freezes up unless you heat the **** out of the garage. Hi-jack over.

Thanks, Scotty.
I don't quite understand how to go about cutting the 4 x 8 sheets to the size I need. Could you explain abit simpler?
My truck has an 8' bed with a standard size tool box mounted at the front. I suppose it would help if I had the measurement of the area I want to cover. I'll get that.
