Drivers door handle assembly worn out
Hello all
Been awhile since my last post and I am approaching 290,000 miles on my 97 E-150. No major issues other than wear and tear! looking for replacement in 10,000 miles.
The drivers door handle assembly has worn out! I am looking to by a new assembly from Ford and the part is showing as 22405 on fordparts.com.
What is the procedure to replace other than drill out the rivets and swap part and pop new rivets?
What is the rivet size?

Being in the auto glass biz I have the rivets and setting tool but using bolts works too but they need to be the truss head type. Most likely 1/4" or 8mm would work, no more than 3/4" length.

8C2Z-1522405-AD (replaced F2UZ-1522405-B) .. Left Door Outside Handle Assy.
Applications: 1992/2014 E150/350 & E(Super Duty) / MSRP: $53.13.
btw: I assume that you are aware that the E series has been cancelled, replaced by the Transit (the two guys of the American Pickers TV show are now driving a 2015 Transit).
Danielle, the American Pickers secretary, was driving a 2015 Transit Connect recently, which is based off the new Escape. The front end of the Transit Connect IMO...is almost as ugly as the Pontiac Aztec.
The new Escape is no prize either.
