Screw size

I'm in the process of rebuilding my doors. I'm looking to replace the screws and bolts with stainless steel, for looks and longevity. The issue I'm having is with the short screws that hold the latch and internal handle on tot he door. They're larger than a #10 but smaller than 1/4".

Any idea what size they are?

missing stainless screw

You're talking about the one in the little recessed/dimpled area toward the back edge of the door but on the side of the door that faces the driver, right? I have the same issue and have not found one of the right style as well. I'm pretty sure #12 is correct too. I've found chrome and zinc but no stainless. I'm almost to the point where I will just paint something to look similar. My stainless fastener kit didn't include them. The hardware store near me is one of those old-fashioned Ace Hardwares that seemingly has every fastener invented too. I've stopped at 3 or maybe 4 other stores that have hardware, all with no luck.
The one thing I didn't do is to call some of the stainless fastener supplier guys directly. Maybe that is the next thing we should do.
