Ok I am loking and the search isnt bring up specifics for what I want, but my question is the following Is the air dam in front required for our trucks and if I remove it (its already cracked) will that hurt any thing like performance?
I plan to remove both halves as its become cracked down the centere and well to me its pointless to keep...
My F350 was missing its air dam (which is a bit smaller than the 92-97 version), when I bought it, but I found a repo for ~$30 and put it on.
Noticed zero difference in performance or milage, but I don't drive long distances with it, and really only put it on to clean up the front a bit. I like how it looks.
To really be effective an air dam has to extend down to within inches of the road, that is pretty much pointless on a street vehicle never mind a pickup truck. I don't see the factory air dam making much if any difference particularly on a 4x4.
cool, thanks guys, I will be removing it due to it being cracked (split) down the centere so i figured I would remove it as its not doing much anyways and just wanted your thoughts
Thanks for the info and glad to always get the assistance from you guys!
well then its decided, as soon as I get my girl back from the shop im ripping off that stupid air dam, which I have also thought was a pointless thing but left it be as it hasn't been causing me issues....but now that its cracked its slated for removal...
My front bumper from an F150 has the dam. I have ran it for a bit and thought about taking it off. I do like how it hides the front spring shackles. A couple of days ago I trimmed it at the line that runs it's full length. Perfect, not too long and adds a little detail.
