I don't know what this guy is smoking but I want some. Granted they are NOS, but I bought 2 of them from different sellers for under $100 . http://www.ebay.com/itm/73-74-75-76-77-78-79-FORD-F-SERIES-TRUCK-BRONCO-NOS-MIRRORS-/361206487131?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1979%7CMake%3AFord&hash=item541995985b&vxp=mtr
I think it's legal to smoke that stuff now. Have wondered about the pricing on some of those items myself. It never sells, the listings just keep rolling around for so long they think it's a pet. Maybe they don't really want to sell. 100% of nothing is still nothing. If they would list a decent price it would sell right away. Oftentimes setting an opening bid of .99c is the way to go, and will outstrip any reserve price auction by a good bit as well.

I agree with you. I've seen stuff on e-bay for over a year that never sells. At least the guy is reasonable on shipping.
I know what he's smokin! It's called crank! Junk yard mirrors are easy enough to polish out. I cannot see any reason to spend that kind of bread on a set of them.
eBay search hits (and everybody else) have changed over the years too: so it's not just the douche bags and 500 dollar mirrors. At one time a specific search would bring up pretty much only items looking for. Now it's hundreds of items, all BS having nothing to do with anything. I don't get it. Or one seller will have the same item listed a thousand times, like the fellow selling truck bed wood strips.
AKguy, that isn't too out of line for a kingpin D60. Granted, it needs a complete rebuild by the looks of it.
I just bought a 1995 D60 (ball joint ) complete( included brakes, springs, shocks, steering) for 500. It only needs upper ball joints replaced and one hub was missing.

Oh I see you're from AK also...wonder if lower 48 people pay that much for these things

Exactly why I don't spend a lot of time there anymore. I remember when people didn't use it to make a living. Just the regular folks trying to sell something.
Used eBay to sell a few items in the past, but my understanding is that it's now pretty sketchy with lots of fees. If selling an item the buyer apparently has a year to decide whether he likes it or not and can demand a refund? Whatever happened to "all sales final"? I ain't L.L. Bean, but eBay figures different. Sad.

It's not that bad - I still sell some spare parts there from time to time. You can list something as no returns accepted; eBay only requires that your description be accurate (i.e., you're up front about condition and any damage). If you're not trying to hide things and pull one over on someone by misrepresenting the true condition of a used part, it's not a problem. The fees are there, though you do get a wider audience than with local CL ads, so ... just a matter of what you're selling and how big the market is.
I agree that wading through all the professional ads gets old though.
