Is there a difference between the factory 15x7.5 alloy wheels for a Bronco versus a F150. I've been watching for some factory alloy wheels for my '85 F150 and noticed that some people advertise them as Bronco wheels and some advertise as F150. I always thought that a Bronco wheel and a pickup wheel will both have the same bolt pattern.
Nick, I just installed a set of the 7.5" Ford alloys on my Bronco. They are the same wheels, whether they are off a F150 or Bronco. They are 5 on 5.5" lug pattern, with a 4 1/8" backspacing.
I had the seller send me more detailed pics of the set I'm eying and they showed some scratches in some of them. Do you think these scratches affect the clearcoat on them over time, or are they nothing to worry about?
Minor scratches aren't anything to worry about. It's hard to change tires on alloy wheels without them showing some wear. You may even be able to buff them out somewhat, or you might be able to touch up the clearcoat.
Mine had a couple of small chips on them that looked like where a tire iron had roughed them up. It's hard to get a perfect (used) set of these wheels, since 96 was the last year of production.
