I will take a hard look at removing the front clip although this truck has been so Frankensteined I am hesitant to do that if I don't have to.
If it was assembled once, it should go back together again. Take pics to help your memory. There are few things as frightening as a nearly removed engine swinging from a fully extended hoist. Take the clip off and reaffirm your smartness.
Take your time, do it right, don't get hurt, don't mess up the body or engine. It's a hobby if it takes a little longer than you thought that's ok. It will pay dividends. Most of all be safe and have fun.
My welder does not have the capacity to make a lifting plate so I'm back to the leveler. Is there anyone who has used the leveler who can tell me the best/safest place to connect the four chains? Before I attempt the lift I will make many measurements to verify that I have the clearance I need. Thanks
SUCCESS! Thanks to everyone who contributed to my understanding of the issues surrounding the removal of my engine..I will check back with you when it's time to install its replacement. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the help!
What may appear as black paint in the photo is probably an inch of crap covered in fresh oil. If I recall correctly, one cylinder has no pressure and the other seven have low pressure. I have been wondering what to do with the engine and transmission. Don't have plans to rebuild it and can't store it for long. Last thing I would want to do is pass on my problems to someone else. I am more of a buy high sell low kind of a guy. Not a very good business model but I never ripped anybody off that's for sure. Then there is the wife. She thinks these parts are made of gold. Not her fault though since I borrow gold from her to buy the stuff in the first place. Anyone care to give me some direction?

Depends on the casting numbers on the heads and , Is it a 4v intake? There is a lot of money sitting there in pieces but not worth much as a whole. I know sounds stupid but its true. Go to this site and do some reading Y <click on the Y
