Need M5OD help fast!

I'm trying to install a hurst shifter, I removed my stock shifter but left it in reverse.
I installed the hurst shifter but couldn't get it out of reverse, so I installed the stock one back in and I still can't get it out of reverse, the stick feels like it's in neutral, like I can move it from right to left, I've tried pushing on it forward with all my might and it doesn't get out of reverse.

Any help anyone?

It shifted like a dream before.

Loosen the stock shifter and try to fit it into the reverse position before you tighten it. You may have to use it "loose" and pull the reverse lever back with it.

Hey Sprocket,

Let us know what you think of the new shifter. Does it shift better (how) or is it purley cosmetic?

I'm also curious, cuz I am seriously thinking about buying it for mine. I read on here a while back that someone else bought it and then had to send it back to Hurst to have them remachine it because it wouldn't shift into 5th or Reverse, and was a known problem. Have you run into that situation, with the exception of your previous prob? Let us know how "worth it" it is.

Luke

I love this thing! Reduced shift throw 30% and you can feel it in every gear expecially 1-2nd, it shifts like a little sports car, no problems with 5th or reverse. This thing feel so much more solid then the stock one, it's very hard to explain. And it look's so much better then my old stock one since te paint sun baked off and it was turning a rust color, I highly recommend this mod, turned my little Eddie Bauer into a hodrod.

Expect pictures to be up this afternoon with a complete write up of how installation went and more onwhat I think about it.
