I have a 2003 f150 just did trans fluid and filter change . I was going to change fluid and filter again in a week . truck has 185 k on it and seems to shift better but I have been reading up on the j mod and was wondering if this would help "clean up" some of the sloppy shifts? should I wait till the trans goes out and have it done during a rebuild? I have the 1-2 small hesitation but nothing to worry about. I do ,however , have a big 1-2 hesitation at WOT. any thoughts?

I had a 2000 Mustang GT with the same 4r70w. That 1-2 shift was a real douche. I was going to do the trans-go shift kit or the j-mod. My friend owns a tranny shop and he advised me against it. He claims it's kind of a crapshoot on what harshness it will produce. The problem being neck snapping shifts at light throttle. I finally just bought a SCT3 tuner and adjusted the firmness and shift points on how I wanted it. Turning up the pressure with the tuner gave me almost tire chirp shifts on 1-2 at WOT. When I sold the car I wanted the tuner so I had to return the PCM to stock. Man, that tuner was a night and day difference. LOL...I bought another 2000 GT but this time a stick.
