just a question, I was told that most of the XLT Ford trucks had the keyless entry in them and that the ones that were sold without it still had all the stuff installed and all you had to really do was get the button thing to activate them. does anyone know if this is true and also how to tell if the vehicle accually came stock with keyless entry. mine has everything else but I bought it used so i don't know if it came with it orriginaly or not.

It was a factory-installed option from 1994+, it has been available since 1989 in the Ford dealer-installed parts book.
If you don't have the key fob, you don't have keyless entry.
You can install an aftermarket system fairly easy
'93 F-150 loaded and modified!

IS it true then the trucks are wired for keyless minus the module???
I know the Taurus of the mid 90's were, all you needed was the module and transmitter(key fob)
I'm going junkyard huntinng tomorrow , and a modulw would be a good score

I *think* they were for 1994+ trucks. Prior to that you had to hook up relays for the keyless to work. My 93 used negative power to activate the system. I've heard that 94+'s did.
You can purchase aftermarket systems for $20. They have a considerable better range than the factory systems do.

I bought my ICD system from JC Whitney for $29 a couple of years ago. They've been advertising them lately for that price. Same system I have.
