If it was the XL package I have doubts,if it was the XLT package,it probably at least has the wiring harness connections...

Key FOB or key pad? I don't believe any 97's had the key pad, but the FOB yes.

i don"t know what model it is. (previous owner debadged it) it has pw,pl,cruise, tilt, fog lights. no key fob came with it. i put aftermarket keyless entry in my old truck and would do it again. i just wanted to make sure this didn't have it from the factory. would the vin tell me if it had it?

It sounds like you indeed have an XLT ersion, but in 97 I believe that remote locks were an option. My suggestion would be to call a local dealer, and inquire as to where the keyless entry reciever is located. If you dont find one,you have your answer.Cant remember if the options are coded in the VIN but have my doubts there.

You would likely come out cheaper just putting in your own even if it does have Factory keyless entry.OEM Key Fobs are not cheap usually, and then theres the programming issue...

If it does have it, key fobs are readily available on e-bay and at reasonable pricing. Programming instructions are in the owners manual for the truck. Good luck!
