I have a '75 e150 with a 300 6 and a 3 on the tree manual. My ring gear is all chewed up, so I'm going to replace it and the clutch as well.
Am I going to need to use any shims after I resurface the flywheel and why?
Also, What torque do the flywheel and clutch bolts need to be set at?
You will not need to use any shims on the flywheel or pressure plate. The '75 has a mechanical adjustable clutch actuator rod so the proper clutch pedal free play can be set, which I think is about 3/4 inch.
I suggest using grade 8 bolts to attach the pressure plate, with Locktite.
Dunno the torque spec offhand - it should be Googleable.
