I've seen mixed information when I searched this question, so I'm hoping someone can clearly explain this to me.
I have a 78 f100 351m and I'm trying to make sure the vacuum lines are correct. Everywhere I look says the vacuum advance should go to the middle port on a VCV, so I've got that. The other two have me confused. First, is the hot open port always the one closest to the thermostat housing and the cold open the one furthest?
Second, should the vacuum manifold go to the hot open port and the ported vac on the carb go to the cold open port, or the other way around?
Thanks, I believe I've got hit set up properly now. My vacuum reading is steady at 20 while in park but drops to a steady 15 when I put the truck in drive, is this normal?
