Best OBD II Wireless device
Ok, I've been trying to find a set up that works well and after reading this thread I'm left with a low confidence as to what will work.
I use an iphone5s and I want to use an obd2 device that connects to my phone and shows me egt, regen, soot level, etc....
Will someone please share with me what works?
Which obd2 to plug in?
Which app to download?
Thanks.

I'm using a bluetooth adapter to an Android device. Haven't done much with it lately as it's too cold to sit in the driveway messing with it. My son swiped my Nexus5 too so now I have an old LePan tablet and Razr to run it on.
Where are you guys posting the updated pid info? I recall there was a TqPro thread somewhere.

That is correct. I didn't want to mislead anyone.
My Bluetooth BAFX adapter works with my Android device. I believe that Torque Pro works also with a WIFI adapter but it still only an Android App.

looks like for i devices you only can choose the FORscan app.
according to the app website
FORScan Home
from FAQ
FORScan normally works with COM, USB and Bluetooth interfaces.

I was just looking at this ELM327 and it said that it required Jailbreaking of the IOS and I would rather not do that..
What is the next best option for the IOS people like me to use with the FORscan application?
Thinking about getting a wireless OBD II tool from Scan Tool like OBDLink MX bluetooth or WIFI version. Leaning more to the WIFI as someday I might just drink the apple juice.
Any recommendations about bluetooth vs WIFI?
These are pricey but I tried cheap.

Is anyone using a tablet to display the gauges? Any suggestions on how to mount without drilling holes into the dash? I am wondering if the lower flip out cup holders could be used to hold a tablet. Wish the gauges could just be displayed on the Nav screen.
I just bought the wifi for the same reason - plus I have an old laptop without bluetooth that I can also use. I got the wifi to work with TorquePro just fine on a Samsung tablet. Also works with my Samsung phone. Works great with the laptop and the software you get with the scan tool.

RAM also makes cup holders. A bit pricier but the number of options for mounting to it are almost infinite. As a motorcyclist I have used RAM mounts for a long time. They hold up and there always seems to be a new way to use them to mount a new device. Just a happy user - might have to buy one for my truck.
