Yeah Joel, what Sam said. It has something to do with the iphone and Bluetooth connectivity- the Torque App won't work. It's not the app's fault, it's just a security or operational restriction on the ios platform. I'm not 100% sure on the specifics, sorry. I've got an iphone through work, but I've got an old Droidx I use with an Elm327 so I never had to dig any further into what the deal was.
I used the LYL Elm327 wi-fi adapter with a low profile right angle flat ribbon OBDII extension cable all purchased form amazon. With this set up you do not see any of the components. I zip tied the wi-fi module up under the dash. I use the Engine link app on my iPad. The customer support from Engine link was great in helping me get the PID's that I wanted working. If you go this route let me know and I can send you my PID csv file. Also I have not experienced any issues with the wifi interfering with the trucks operations.

I'd be interested in looking at the PID file, just to see if Engine Link has more PIDs then Torque Pro.

yes, please send csv... same username as here at gmail.com
I went with the PLX Kiwi 2 and then the Dash Commander APP for the Ipad Mini. I put a post about this in the 6.4 Section with pictures. I absolutely love it! It is a really great setup. I highly recommend it!
As stated above Bluetooth adapters don't work with iPhones, so you'll need a wifi device. The downside to that is that when you have a Wifi connection the iPhone tries to get internet from the Wifi, not your cell data. Since your OBD port can't provide internet, you'll have no data access whenever you're connected to your truck.
That's possibly the biggest reason I haven't gotten an iPhone yet. My wife loves her 6+, but I need my gauges!
there was a difference in the F temp calculations.
I just compared the two thru the entire temp range, and no difference to 2 decimal places.
ours = A*9/5-40
theirs = ((A-40)*9/5)+32
Cool!!! I haven't tried your plugin yet, was going to wait till I got another tablet (Wife won't let go of the last one I bought LOL).
I was kindly sent the csv file and haven't looked at it. Was told that it was ours that was sent to Engine Link from a Torque fan? The 4 other PID you posted I have but didn't post because I didn't verify personally if they were correct. Guess I will soon. Also I have a few more PIDs.
As far as the temperature, I have to look back in my notes but by memory, a few folks on the Torque forum told me that PCM already caluclates for the two degrees, I believe our formula matches the dash readout and actual temperature at the sensor. I do remember the wife asking me why I was taking the temperature of the passenger mirror. (Also two degrees differents in Celsius means a lot especially in a beer cooler).

Thanks for your help.
I did send the CSV to one FTE user a while ago, so maybe thats the source.

I have my forum viewing set for show latest at the top.. so your 'above' is 'below' for me.
Huh, learn something new every day. Didn't know you could do that!
User CP -> Edit Options, Section "Thread Display Options" ->Thread Display Mode -> Linear - Newest First
then you don't have to scroll far to see the latest messages. they are right at the top. you have to remember that earlier im the day is lower down, and read bottom up sometimes.. but not too often.
