Nice work man! I love your truck it's got all the same drivetrain as my 87 and it looks like my old 86 bullnose. Your truck sounds really good, did you already put the headers and mufflers on? What are you running for exhaust?
Thanks! It's stock manifolds and the factory true dual exhaust system up until the flange about where the bed and cab meet. After that it's unknown round canister type mufflers with an overall length of about 26". After that it has turn downs in front of the rear axle. I love the way the exhaust is ran and I plan to add Hooker full length headers and have an exhaust shop fab up the exhaust system routing it the same way it is now with Flowmaster 10 series single camber type mufflers.
This video shows a little on how the exhaust is ran. It does have an exhaust leak. Both donut gaskets have seen better days.
They sound real nice, with a hint of vintage, the video don't do them justice.I'm super happy with them. And I got both mufflers two pipe extensions and two 45 degree elbows for $100
Looking good man! I like your air filter setup, I'm getting kind of tired of looking at the stock one on mine.
Thanks! It's getting there. Slowly but surely.
It's both functional and cool looking. When I came across the idea of putting a massive filter on it I couldn't resist. Plus the added filtration is a bonus.
The po put a k&n filter in the stock housing and I don't really trust those. For filtration or air flow. Where did you get the spacer to fit the big ole filter?

Speedway.
Mine is 2.5" as I recall. They don't sell them anymore or at least to my knowledge. The largest they sell is 2". But should still work.
The air cleaner stud is 1/4" x 9". Which is also from Speedway.
Looks nice! I used to run open element air cleaners, had to buy one when I bought my truck because it had no air filter at all on it. Later I found an OE air cleaner setup and hooked up the cold air duct and cold engine carburetor heat tube to the headers and it runs much better both cold and hot than the open element ever did.
