oil question

my 06 is pushing 230k miles and has just started acting up alittle when cold. Just a light miss probably one cylinder. It goes afterway it warms up. I have always used Rotella 15w 40 and change every 5k miles. Would going to a synthetic or 5w 40 help that? Also since its always ran 15w 40 would oil leaks be more of a possibility? Just curious your thoughts

thanks

Sounds like you have an injector starting to have some stiction. A lot of folks here, including myself, believe Archoil 9100 can help clean that injector and the others also.

From reading most all the oil threads here, the 6.0l loves the 5w-40 synthetic oil. As for creating leaks? I think that is an old wive's tale. I use the Rotella T6 5w-40 synthetic.
I'm due for an oil change next week.

5w-40 should help on the start ups. Along with running something like our Stiction Eliminator to clear up the injector problem. I will second that switching to a synthetic won't cause any leaks. A lot of guys on here like the Rotella t6 full synthetic, I also like the Delo 400 full synthetic

You also need to check your ficm voltage.

I put archoil in at the last oil change due to cold weather stiction. I'll try synthetic I suppose. Film is good I monitor it
