im getting high EOTs

As some of you may know I just purchased a 2010 F350 3 days ago. Tonight I finally had time to hook it up to my torque pro app. At highway driving my EOT was reading 224 and my coolant temp was 199. City driving was 215 EOT and 199 coolant. I have 87k miles on the truck. Im not getting any codes. Do I still have some of fords warranty left?

warranty on the motor is 5 years and 100K miles from 1st date of service.

Have them look it up on oasis at the dealer before you make an appt.

Was the coolant ever serviced?

It is a little high but you can't go by the 6.0 which was a 10 deg delta between the coolant and the EOT.

I would have it look at if you can.

If your programming is up to date it would throw the wrench and limit your power.

Still it is work investgating.

It may just be a flush is needed. Since you don't know the condition of the coolant it maybe wise to do so.

Remember Ford Gold coolant only.

Well you could...but I would ask for a scan for codes. Have them do a diagnostics and see if there is actually something wrong.

right now you have a symptom only and you should tell them what you are seeing.

If you coolant is out of spec then it should be changed. Since it is an unknown to you that is even more reason. but have them do the dianostics first.

If the oil cooler does need to be changed then the coolant will be replaced anyway.

I'm glad you're getting your dealership involved, jdm5630. Once you've had your appointment, be sure to come back and tell us how it went. I'll be here if you need help.

Crystal

They clog just like the 6.0s. My brother had to have one replaced on his 6.4 as did a couple of my buddies. I replaced mine on my 6.4 when I studded it. Probably gonna need yours replaced.

so i had to make an appointment for my truck to be looked at. One thing I just noticed is that I have a small coolant leak. I can see some small stains above the left front tire. Could this be causing the high EOT? its not a big leak.

A radiator leak would not cause the high EOT.

Are you loosing any coolant?

Keep the level up. Check it all the time.

The leak could be a radiator seam. Seems like that is where it is based upon the location.

Usually if it is the upper hose then the leak would be engine side at the t stat housing and you would see what splatter at the drivers side wheel well.
