Hi folks!! I've filled my windshield washer fluid many times on my 2012 SD F250 6.2L 4x4 CC, but each time I think I over fill. Ends up dripping down...and I am being wasteful.
With the reservoir in it's location...and it's hard to see when FULL is full. Anybody have a method for adding proper amount?? Or when the reservoir is empty the capacity to bring it to FULL??
Owner's Manual does not share that info??...
For me...it's just hard to see when to stop filling it up!!
get a step, I can see the fluid coming up when on a step
Ok...but do you see a FULL line while on your step??
I've used a step...and do not see a FULL line on my truck. So...the question still remains...at what point to stop filling so it doesn't leak out all over the ground?
Every vehicle I have ever owned...had a FULL line or dip stick attached to the reservoir cap (Honda's do this) to stop filling. If the F250 6.2L does...I haven't found it.
You can tether a small (plastic not painted) bobber onto the neck of the bottle and stop pouring when it rises. We are about offering "solutions" here, aren't we?

That's a pretty good idea!! When time permits...I might just give it a try.
My alternative is just draw a line with a FORD blue Sharpie...LOL!!
The waste of breath is coming from you directly. Let's see...a Freshman User with 30+ posts...and NOT even a contributor to the site.
Yet you felt it necessary to waste space with your comment...which adds nothing to the discussion.
Let me help educate you with FTE and the positive type's that frequent here. Many are actually FORD TRUCK enthusiasts to the core. Which is why I posted the question. I thought...someone went so far as to empty all the fluid and purposely filled it back. Just so they would know what the capacity was. It was worth the try...
My next fill...when as empty as I can get it...I was going to keep track and report back. Help complete the tread...so that future folks will know.
From empty, it will take the whole gallon. Personally I never had a problem knowing when to stop. Maybe this is something you should have done at the dealer.
Sorry, did not mean to be offensive to such posting celebrity, Biz4two, just expressing my opinion about this unimportant topic. I am not too much of a talker if nothing to say ("only 30+ posts"), more of a listener. This is why I do not have 5000+ posts. By the way, I read some of yours and with all due respect, did not find a lot of contribution.

There we have it!! Pit Crew says the capacity is 1 full gallon!! This is information that all SD with the 6.2L can count on!!
I do my own maintenance...and do not visit the dealer. When doing an oil change...or periodic checking fluids...I like to top off if needed. But I like to know the capacities of the truck. IE: oil amount, diff amount, radiator, etc.
Next visit to dealer Pit Crew...Have a coffee on me!!

If you do your own maintenance, why do you need someone to tell you how to fill your washer fluid.my dad taught me that when I was 11. No need to get all sarcastic, your the one that asked this difficult guestion.

Congrats!! I'm happy for you.
I wasn't asking "HOW" to fill it, but the capacity. Also if anyone noticed...if there was a "FULL line".
If the question is so easy or meaningless to you...then maybe stay off the tread to begin with. I read nothing but sarcasm in your reply...besides stating the "fact" that the capacity was 1 full gallon...which I gave you props.
