4.2 fuel economy improvements
I have my 97 regular cab long bed 4x4 with the 4.2 5 speed setup. When i bought it I ran stock tires all terrain tread and averaged roughly 16.5 mixed constantly. Now I put some 265/75 Goodyear Wrangler Authority tires on it. They're awesome look good, not very noisy, and tear up any terrain! I knew I'd take a hit on mpg and I did, I'm averaging about 13.5 now haven't changed my driving habits. It's all stock so far and I'm debating on adding some good bolt-ons if they're worth it. I'm basically trying to open up the motor and let it breathe and take less load off of it. I've looked at e-fans, intakes, exhaust, tuners and there are so many, I'm unsure of what I'd do! I'm not looking to dump thousands on my truck so i figured I'd start off small first. Do you all have any ideas of where I should start? What would you recommend and what should I expect out of them as far as price and power/mileage increase or loss? Thanks.

Also I should probably tell you how I drive. I live in Missouri right about where it's kind of hilly and flat in other places. I live on a farm so I haul wood and pull a smaller trailer on occasion. Most of my trips are under 20 miles i take the highway to school, back roads to work, gravel home, and I go into a town of 12000 frequently. I don't really run my truck hard at all and I'm geared 3.55. That's all I have to say about that.
