New from the Central Coast Ca.
Found some good stuff here. Thought I'd better join.
I've had Ford Trucks my whole life. My first one was an import, a Courier. At least it had Ford on it. It soon had a nice 289 from a 66 GT Mustang. That thing was a blast! I've had 81 F 150 4x4, a slammed 69 F100 short box and a lifted 88 F250 4x4.
My latest; 97 F250 HD 4x4, 70 F100 XLT Ranger short box, 68 F100 short box, and my pride and joy, a 99 F150 Lightning (450rwhp).
Man I love my toys! My girlfriend thinks I've lost my mind!

Hello from the other side of the continent in Virginia. I still have a license plate in our 55 F100 from 1955 for a NC truck that came from my Dad's old homeplace that was on one of the usual blue F100s. We have had Ford's as long as I remember. Started driving with 55s and 56s onward. Welcome,

Our 55 has the same original engine and transmission and about everything else it had in 55 as it served as an old telephone company truck. Everything I have done is cosmetic (handles, badges, repaint, etc except for an upgrade to 12 v, electric wipers, seat belts, new bed wood and strips and similar). It runs and drives about like you would expect for a 60 year old truck. The old bias tires still have that warm-up bump and feel. There seems to be something not working as it should or leaking. It was used in the area my wife's father worked for the telephone company for 40 years - so he could have driven the truck at work. We plan on keeping it as stock as possible to honor her Dad.

I can relate to that. My dad passed a few years back. He was retired Secret Service. We found 1 of 8 SSP (Speciel Service Police) 88 Mustangs used by the Secret Service. Brought it back to stock, unrestored. He loved that car! I've had a few tell me to completely restore it but, I don't think so. It's nice keeping it just the way it came out of service. the way my dad liked it.
