No heater?

I have read on this site that heaters were an option in 1966..Is this correct ??
How can I tell if my 1966 came equipped with the heater option... ( I do not have any part of the heater box and the circular hole for the fresh air intake into the heater box has a round plate on it held with a screw..which appears original)...I live in Florida so really don't need the heater ..but if it came with it I will replace it..

It's a base model 1966 F100

Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated..

Thank you

Hmmm, Im thinking ND has posted that there was a deluxe heater available, but I thought all 66s came with heaters. He would be the man that would know if you could get one without.

Two different types of fresh air heaters were optional for 1965/66 F100/250 2WD .. Economy and Deluxe.

Both types have a heater blower switch/cable located to the right of the choke cable. If no heater, will have a chrome block plate in lieu of the cable.

ND.. PO set up an Electric fan..and mounted switch there..so can I assume he could have removed the chrome block off plate... The reason I believe it may not have Been installed are as follows..

The holes for the water lines on the firewall have those factory caps..
There is no shut off valve inner fender well..
The passengerside heater box fresh air vent.. Has a round blockoff cover that fits it like it was made for it...
Where the cable goes next to the choke..is a switch for the electric fans..

I know it's all speculative ..l was hoping someone can help figure out for sure...

Thank you

What Bill said, and to add, it is like the warranty plates everyone wants decifered, it tells you how it left the factory door not what you see today. As noted earlier a PO could have removed the setup.

Can you post some photos for us to better see what you are describing?
