I got one that will rattle the brain. My 92 F250 7.5L has the front GAWR of 3850 #'s, same as my 89 F250 7.3L. The 89 has a D44 "HD" while the 92 has a D50. Both trucks are regular cab long beds. I ran the Vin with my Ford parts guy and he was baffled by it too. The 92 truck came from the factory with the D50.

We may never know how or why some vehicles got what they got.

That is because EVERY 92+ got the dana 50. The D44"HD was dropped

I know but it's just odd to me it has the lower GAWR.
