I have a 1995 F350 2WD with the 460 and e40d trans. Upon acceleration no matter whether the truck is warmed up or cold the trans will not shift out of 1st gear until above 4500 rpm. That is with soft or hard acceleration. If i feather the throttle it will usually shift sooner and every once in a while it will shift close to normal. Per other posts I have read I have already tried replacing the TPS and VSS in the rear diff. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
pull the codes just to make sure you didn't miss the light flash. Also, check all the fuses in the fuse box inside the cab. One of them, I think it's #13 for me, will blow and cause this. If that isn't it, I'd look back at the VSS. The PCM will use VSS (speed) and the TPS to determine when to shift, and RPM may be used as well.
On mine it has the Electronic Engine Control, but that is all I know. These site gods have not yet bestowed me with that information, I don't have enough posts yet. But if I had to assume, I think it's the electronic part of the E4OD, I think #13 supplies power.
