Spark plug gap
I have installed a MSD 5 Box with a Blaster 2 coil and a Mallory Unilite distributor. It should be pushing 40,000 to 42,000 volts. I know I should widen my spark plug gaps, but the question is "How Much?" Suggestions Please....

I would set them at the stock setting. I think it is .042" to .046" The wider the gap the less multi sparks you will get out of the box. Also excessive gaps can lead to your 40,000 volts going somewhere besides across too big of a gap. On my race engine with an MSD 6, I run my gaps at .035"

The instructions that came with the box should recommend a plug gap.
The higher the compression the smaller the gap-the lower the compression the wider the gap.
I run a MSD 7-AL2 on my Bracket Racer (460 with 12.0:1 comp) and gap the plugs @ .041".

Thanks for the input....I will try .40 to start and go from there. By the way, the Navy is a good taxi service. Although Slow, at least they don't have to use a road map to find there location like the Scare Force.
