Bought truck with a Camero front clip half done, corrected welds and installed plates. Dropped 350/350 auto in it, has what appears to be tilt column out of same car. Problem is cannot get column to align straight with rag joint on steering box, angle is very low. Read some other post here about using van column, is that van column the only way to go? Thanks Chris
My F-1 has a Firebird front clip and tilt steering column, also.
The P.O. Notched the floor for the column, right above the brake/clutch pedal access plate.
This allowed a relatively straight line at the rag joint.
What year clip is on your truck? Mine is from a 79 Firebird.

Was told it was a '69 Camaro, column is same, maybe i need to notch up higher to get straighter? Thanks for help.

If it's a 69 Camaro subframe, it will have the steering box behind the crossmember vs. my 79 Firebird/camaro subframe with the steering box in front of the crossmember. So, my earlier info won't be relevant for your problem.
