Im making the assumption that you have injectors not firing when cold, and they start working as the oil temp comes up? If thats the case and you just need a few more months out of them, I'd check the armature plate clearances on the injectors that sound muted during the cold buzz test. If they're less than 0.0015, shim them up to about 0.0025 clearance or so.

if i am going to take the valve covers off, the injectors are coming out.
it makes no sense to do things twice.
