1977 Ford F250 Ranger - 460CI motor rear wheel - HELP!
Just installed the one wire alternator " 8-47141 Natural Ford Upgrade Alternator" from Powermaster - Install was easy, removed old alternator and voltage regulator and all of the connection points (two or three go to the starter solenoid, one to horn). Ran a 6 gauge power wire from battery to the back of the alternator, and tightened everything up, reconnected the battery cables which are fairly new. NOW I don't have any power at all. No headlights, no ignition, no beeps, clicks or whistles. NOTHING!...I don't get it! I have power to the battery side of the starter solenoid, but nothing else. I had a new starter solenoid for future issues, so I put that on as well, no luck! I know its something stupid, but Im at a complete lose. The battery is 100%.
no the "420" refers to a Sony Trinitron Mdl#G420 Monitor I had about 18 years ago. funny part is I never heard that before until about 3 years ago...but after having a email that long i just stayed with it. HUGELY against drugs!...but that's a different forum.... So what would be the cleanest way to hook that back up? Should I splice a new wire for that and the horn?
Thanks so much for the responses..I knew it was something simple, but them again it always is!! thanks guys, going out now to retry!!
Yeah, I stay away from that crap too so I've never heard that one either. I would splice a new power and horn wire on. Just make sure you use the same size or larger wire for the power.
