So the impending engine swap has me contemplating eventually swapping in a better O/D trans and it's looking like the FoMoCo options will require a hydraulic setup. Mine is currently all mechanical, and I've seem to have missed my chance to scavenge a pedal assembly out of an '83 and up manual at the closest yard. Is there a way to get the master cylinder to link up with the manual setup that is acceptable? If I've missed a thread covering this, I apologize.
It depends on what engine tranny you are wanting to use. The ones with the external slave could possibly be modified, I think there was a thread on it somewhere but don't know if it was successful or not.
If you are swapping in a tranny that uses the integral slave, no you can't change it to mechanical.
I was looking more at if anyone had mated the hydraulic pushrod for the master cylinder to the manual clutch pedal assembly and how they went about mounting the master cylinder.
