IIRC you can use the stainless steel one's "IF" they are from a Lariat door panel. You might need to make a small cut in the wood grain inserts to allow for the Lariat SS ring to work, I just can't remember!! See the first post rings/tabs!

The pleated door inserts (on my '77, at least) use a heat-bonded vinyl trim with a chrome Mylar finish, these do not come off. Also, the stainless trim designed for the plain plastic door panels will not cover up where the vinyl trim was, because they were designed to go at the very edge of that opening. The vinyl trim sits inward about a 1/4 of an inch all the way around. The only way these stainless moldings work for the pleated XLT panels would be to make fresh sewn pleated ones, instead of OEM heat-seamed panels.

Ok. But not the ones shown in the first pics of the red panels (pic #3). Those are the kind I bought. Buyer beware on which kind you get, because you might end up with trim you can't use.

Post#1 and Post#7 (first 3 pics) are the one's that are SS and can be made to work with the wood grain inserts---just going off my "old" memory tho

Like Scott said I have never seen the stainless steel trim with the wood grain inlay track/groove. Good luck finding some, have you posted a WTB add in that section

I wish I had a junkyard like that around here!!

Yes those map pockets are rare too. I have seen them in red, blue and maybe black, but usually they are trashed.

Do not forget to join your FTE state chapter (Colorado right?), here is the link. Great way to get a heads up on parts and good JY locations.

Thanks for the info. I'll look at the state chapter. Lyle
