This weekend I purchased my first diesel. It's a 2005 F250 6.0 with about 152,000 miles on it. Here are the mods on the truck. EGR delete, ARP head studs and new head gasket, 190cc injectors, AirDog II, Billit River City Diesel torque converter, billit input shaft, Suncoast rebuild kit with transgo shift kit and a SCT livewire tuner. My question is when I accelerate fairly hard, it shifts extremely hard and almost like it misses then catches. It is an automatic. The tuner was put on before any of these mods were done, so is it possible if I get a new tuner or at least updated tunes, is it something that a tuner could possibly work out or am I looking at another issue?
Do you have any codes set? There should be a custom tune on there for those injectors see which one it is. Also can you set the tuner to defuel on shifts?
I am not familiar enough with the tuner to know if there is a preset tune to work with the injectors. The programmer has an extreme race, extreme street and tow tune on it. It is on extreme street right now. All of these custom tunes were loaded before the injectors or pretty much anything else was done. I talked to Innovative Diesel this morning and the guy I talked with acted like it was probably solenoids and nothing a tune would change. Anyone else have anything like this? Any idea what the average cost is to replace the solenoids?
