need help wiring sander

Im trying to wire a noreaster 8' elec V spreader for my buddy. He bought the spreader used so it came with no controller just 12 inches of 6 ga wire. my idea is to run a 6 ga lead off the battery to the sander and run another lead off the upfitter switch to a 60amp relay to switch the sander on/off. The only specs I can find says that it has 60 amp startup draw and 40 amp running draw. My question is what I am proposing to do correct or is there a better way to wire this. Thanks

Mine goes from the battery to a short run of heavy wire to a monster fuse then to the relay and off to the back. Sw the relay with your sw...The ground for the sander i don't remember where that went...I'd have to look to see if i went to the frame or the battery. I'm guessing the battery. I'll look tomorrow.
