buyers remorse

Well I bought an 03 f250 6.0L with 190k and the independent seller promised that his diesel mechanic went through everything and replaced what it needed and blah blah. On way home noticed a strong exhaust smell inside the cab and a rattling, when I got home I started looking around truck and i had to really look and it looked like someone jerry rigged stuff under the hood. The ficm was just sitting on valve cover, the egr valve was sticking out some because one bolt was stripped and one loose, tie rod just flapping around. I took it to a ford shop and they said oil cooler was bad, y pipe cracked, egr bad, and tie rod. I gave list to seller and he agreed to fix everything but after I dropped off the truck and seller said no problem we'll take care of it. I got a call from his partner saying they did a test and didn't find anything wrong and that they are putting an SCT tuner on it and call it good. My problem is that it should of never passed inspection because of the tie rod, seat belt, and exhaust leak

Tie rod just flapping around? How did you steer???

When buying a used vehicle it is always buyer beware. I recommend to anyone buying a used truck to get it inspected, especially a 6.0. In your case, I'd bring it back and request money back to fix it right, or all your money back and find a different truck...

Rule 1 ....a seller is trying to sell a truck, and will not always be honest. (Especially an independent dealer)

Rule 2....inspect a vehicle thoroughly BEFORE you buy it, not afterwards.

Hopefully you can get some resolution, but if it was sold as-is...it's unlikely.

One from pitman arm to passenger side, that's what was making the rattling sound, banging against the one behind it and there isn't a steering damper

You haven't seen all the other things he didn't do properly yet - if you can, take it back and keep looking

These are the kind of trucks that give 6.0's a bad rap. Cobbled up repair jobs eventually cost somebody a lot of money, walk away unless you want to spend the cash to fix it right.

It's time for an attorney!!! Sold you a truck that would not pass a safety! He'll loose his license and business not to mention the fine.

I would call the seller and have a civil discussion. Either pay to have your shop repair the truck or refund your money and return the truck back to him.
