Not trying to take this in a different direction, but has anybody double stacked the 6.8 trans coolers?? Since they are a fair amount larger than the 7.3 stock one, was just wondering if you could save $$'s by doing so. Area wouldn't be the same as the 6.0 obviously, but would add a bunch more cooling area cheaply, since there are a bunch already laying around some of our own shops or garages!!!!

Take it wherever you want There is no direction anymore, I got my answer early on. If there was room, stacking them 1 in front of the other would seem like a great idea, BUT the mounts, extra connections, serviceability, might prove troublesome. At $400 a cooler I'm going to figure something else out or it won't get done, That's for sure....

Which problem are you trying to fix? How warm is your transmission getting? What are you towing?
If you don't need a 6.0L cooler you shouldn't install one. The 4R100 has no thermostat like the 5R110 does, and you will NEVER get that thing up to temp in the winter time.
We don't have winter to speak of..3-4 weeks of cold temps on average. Will see 3 digit ambient temps 4-6 months of the year. The truck pulls 10 to 12K & I know heat is not my friend so I was interested in finding out about the MOD. At 4 bills for a cooler it won't be happening

Pulling heavy in hot weather is where these things are needed. Have you ever monitored your transmission temps while pulling?
I paid around $200 for mine from a local salvage yard. Mark cautions against that because of the risk of buying one clogged with deposits.
