Here is my problem. I found my 4wd not working last night. The light would come on, but nothing seemed to work. That morning I had an issue with my battery. Today I replaced the battery hoping that the 4wd would work. It didn't. So I started checking all of the fuses and relays. Everything that I could find checked out ok. So I went to the parts store and ended up replacing the differential motor. When I went to try the 4wd again it didn't work. I can here what sounds like the motor engaging, but nothing happens. I have the hubs locked into place, and I don't think that I have any vacuum leaks. However I don't think this should matter because I am using the hubs in manual lock. Is there anything that I have over looked? Could it be that one or both of my hubs are not working even in manual lock? Please help!!!
I checked this morning. What I found was that with the hubs locked the drive shaft would spin when the transfer case was engaged. when the transfer case was not engaged it would just slowly turn.
When I crawled under the truck with the transfer case engaged I was not able to spin the drive shaft.
