Well my axle is almost done. Got the radius arms all mounted up, now i just gotta get them welded. Find a brake caliper mount and get the trac bar mounted up.

Ryan, How did you mount the newer style radius arms to the axle. I just finished replacing the rear axle with a 10.25" FF and was about to start the front. I had planned to use the Fabritech extended radius arms for a 78/79 Bronco, but if I could get by with my extended Superlift arms (for my '96), that would save quite a bit of cash.
Also, what kind of flex do you expect with your set-up?
Keep us updated on your progress.

first off, the new style skyjacker ones are longer yet. Secondly, the 79's mount at the wrong angle to mate up directly to the frame mounts in my 95. Plus...i spent the money, i wanna use them and not toss them in the garage with the rest of the junk.

First of, it looks like its coming along good, Ryan. I appreciate a little custom work done like that. I think you'll be happy with the results. Secondly, doesn't adjusting the caster also mess with the camber, and vice versa? I know it does with mine. I just finagled it untill both were close and called it good. Then I took it to my alignment guy so he could bounce lasers off of it

it shouldn't, caster is the forward to rear tip of the axle's steering axis itself. camber is the tilt side to side of the axis. The two are independently adjustable.

Right, right, but I know on mine one also affects the other. Maybe its a Dana 60 thing. Maybe its my weak grasp on geometry My alignment guy said the same thing though, not that that means he didn't flunk math either

Very cool Ryan. If you have any other pics, please get ahold of me. I want to do the same exact setup. As far as caster, I would call an alignment shop and as what the stock setting is for a f-150 and for an f-350 since thats where that axle came from. Good luck, cool setup>

Ryan, I researched the castor issue when I lifted my truck. I found that in general, anywhere between +2* to +8* is what you're shooting for. The spec sheet I got with my alignment gives a specified range of 2.8* to 4.3*. I was at 4.4* on the driver side and 4.3* on the pass. side. It drives straight and easy and I don't have to wrestle it down the road. Granted mine is a 77' but I wouldn't imagine it would be any different for your truck.

Hopefully I'm not stating the obvious here but keep in mind that rear ride height has a big affect on castor.

what i intend on doing, is to get the angle of the radius arms set to whats on my truck now, then adjust the caster off of that. I don't plan on lifting the rear any more or less than i do on the front, so i figure that should remain constant. Hopefully i can get the thing tack welded up tommrow, and we'll see how it goes from there.

I just finished putting a D44 solid in to my '93 F150. I used the 79 arms and made a couple custom brackets so that i could keep my 93 6" coils. I also cut the radius arm brackets and pushed back the face 20deg to take some bind off the bushings (Probably going to get some longer arms in the near future). for the track bar, i centered the truck first by using ratcheting straps. I Fabed up the trackbar bracket using square tube from a trailer hitch welded to the underside of the frame and then a cross piece welded to it and the engine crossmember. (took roughly 4 hours to fab the bracket) I practically did the whole swap by myself, some help here and there, took me a total of 4 solid days to get it togeather. It wasn't as hard as i thought it was going to be and i urge people that are thinking about doing the swap to read as much as you can about it and seriously consider it. I'm only 19 and i was able to do it.
