Well the axles in the truck...for the moment anyhow. Still have to fab up a trac bar and make it work, get a spindle to replace the damaged one, and finish welding the rest of the mounts.
Where is the track bar mounting to? Did you make a seperate mount for it or could you use the mount for one of the TTB hinge points? Iv'e seen a truck that did that but have no idea how it worked out. I'm still hunting for that 60 to replace the TTB in my 250. Should be fun.
well the axles in the truck and it drove out the door today.....Still have to get it aligned and the axle mount brackets welded completly on. But its moving and thats a good sign.
well i might keep them on. but then i'll have to regear the front to like 3.08's to keep up with the rear. its my plan on how to clear trails....just drop the diff and start plowing...
Trucks in the shop tonight, getting aligned first thing in the morning. Anyone wanna take a guess at how close i got the caster using a protractor? I aimed for 7.5 degrees positive caster.
Its done, its done.....I finally got it in and i'm impressed. It rides better than it did with the ttb...bumps are a bit harsher...but overall its an improvement. Plus...ya can't beat the 11 inches or so of ground clearance at the diff. I'll get some pictures up tommrow
Right on Ryan, there isn't anything near as satisfying as doing your own work and having it turn out killer, is there? I'm looking forward to the pics.
So which is positive and which is negative castor? If the pinion is pointing up is that positive or the other way around. On my 79 the front of the diff pointed toward the ground and the pinion was pointed up but my buddies 75 F250 is the opposite and I've always wondered.
