One of the things I like best about FTE is that there are mostly open minds here, not just "FORD is the best, everything else is crap". Everyone here is not forced to sing the same song. Plenty of great opinions.
When members make valid arguments that GM or RAM are the best, I read and consider. Maybe they are and certainly could be in the posters situation. Although I only own Fords today, I don't consider myself a Ford-man. I like what some of the other manufacturers are doing too.
Spot on. I really like this place. Everything is even keeled, people are nice to each other, the moderators keep good control over the attitudes, and the clientele are enjoyable folks.
This causes people who like that atmosphere to join. The folks in the 1 page thread are some real high quality folks. I'd have dinner with any of them.
As for the RV forums...that's sad. With such a niche group of folks, I would think RV'ers would be nicer and even mannered. Attitudes like that will push people away from the hobby. I guess they don't realize that they are ambassadors to a hobby that's been demonized by movies like RV. (I have that fight now to get the fiancé to at least have an open mind about RVing).
People should be proud of what they own, but the brand bashing I read on forums is sickening.
