Yup!when I had the 6.2 L F250 with this tranny, I would tow in 5th quite a bit, or use the M mode and manage the tranny myself. But, with the 6.7L PSD, I just put tranny selector in D and engage tow/haul along with e-brake and let it pull! And it WILL pull! If anyone is familiar with Bozeman pass on I-90 westbound in Montana pulling my 18000 GVW Raptor loaded and about a 25-30 mph quartering headwind. I dropped about 4 mph and the tranny downshifted from 6th to 5th about a half mile from the summit! Why bother playing with the killy-wiggles when you dont have to! Let 'er pull! She will!

In my reply above I wrote manual, but in my case it's the use of the +\- selector while in the drive position.

We all have our ways. Personally, I want to be able to work the throttle without changing gears most of the time. And I mean when towing something, not running solo.

I just don't like it settling down in 6th gear so quickly. It always tries to go to 6th gear, it seems like it really forces the issue too much for my taste. I like to choose my gears, just the way it is.

Just moved my 5er from one lot to another here in the Phoenix metro area, all city streets just keep it in drive and let the transmission due what it was designed to do. When I travel the interstate I normally again let the transmission do what it was designed to do.

That is one of the nice passes in Montana..........Notice the many vehicles that slow down a bunch going up that pass.........
